Unidirectional rotating bezel

One of the Submariner's key features is its rotating bezel. The 60-minute graduation allows the diver to read the exact dive time and control the decompression time. The Cerachrom disc on the bezel, made by Rolex from hard, corrosion-resistant ceramic, is extremely scratch-resistant. A capsule filled with luminous material on the triangle of the zero mark ensures good legibility even in low-light environments. The serrated outer edge ensures excellent grip underwater, even with diving gloves.

Black Dial

With its innovative luminous material, the dial's Chromalight display ensures improved readability in the dark, which is essential for divers. Triangular, round, rectangular: the hour indices are quick and easy to read thanks to their simple shape - as are the wide hour and minute hands, which avoids any risk of confusion underwater.

Stainless Steel Oystersteel

Rolex uses exclusively Oystersteel stainless steel for the cases of its stainless steel wristwatches. Oystersteel stainless steel, specially developed by Rolex, belongs to the "904L stainless steel" steel type - an alloy that is mostly used in high technology, the aerospace industry or the chemical industry, where maximum corrosion resistance is required.
